Yosemite National Park Vintage 1930s WPA Poster

Part of the 1938–1941 WPA National Park Service series, this design frames a historic ranger cabin beneath the towering sequoias of Yosemite's Mariposa Grove, captioned with the evocative original tagline: "Centuries of History in the Making." The rich rust, gold, and navy palette is characteristic of the series' hand-pulled silkscreen printing process — bold, flat color blocks built up layer by layer, entirely by hand.

Like the rest of the collection, very few original prints of this design have survived; most were lost or discarded after the program ended with the onset of WWII, before being rediscovered decades later through the efforts of poster historian Doug Leen.

Restored from the archival scan, preserving the original palette.
